Wax agent is mainly used as softener and sizing aid in textile. Emulsified wax is used as sizing agent for yarn. Because countless uniform and fine wax grains are attached to the yarn, the softness and lubricity of the fabric are significantly improved, so that the fabric quality and loom efficiency are improved. In textile production, whether cotton textile or wool textile, especially in yarn dyed production, the rational use of wax agent in each process plays a good role in reducing end breakage, reducing weaving defects, improving cloth machine efficiency and physical quality.
Requirements for wax in textile mills
Good emulsifying and water solubility; It is easy to saponify, and the wax agent is easy to be removed in the processing of grey cloth in the dyeing factory; After heating for a long time, the performance of wax liquid is stable and the quality will not change
Main technical indexes of common waxes
Wax is mainly composed of esters composed of higher fatty acids and higher fatty alcohols with even carbon atoms. In addition, it also contains some free higher carboxylic acids, alcohols and hydrocarbons. The sources of wax are roughly three categories: the first category is derived from the secretions of natural animals and plants, such as cotton wax, beeswax and wool wax, which are mostly higher fatty acid esters; The second category is derived from the by-products of petroleum industry, which is higher alkanes with wax like form and low melting point; The third type is synthetic wax, such as polyethylene glycol. Most waxes used in textile production are the second and third types. Generally, anhydrous wax is appropriate. The following are two kinds of waxes commonly used in production.
Water soluble wax
Composition: 20% ether type non-ionic surfactant, 80% ester type non-ionic surfactant, non crystalline paraffin, white or light yellow block in appearance, melting point 45-55 ℃, fully soluble in water, P value 6-7.
Industrial white oil
Industrial white oil, also known as white oil for cosmetic industry, commonly known as liquid wax, is a colorless, tasteless, non fluorescent, anhydrous soluble acid-base non polluting fiber fabric made of lubricating oil fraction of petroleum as raw material and refined by dewaxing, chemical refining or chlorination. Its density is q835 × one thousand and thirty point eight four five × 103kgh3, kinematic viscosity (flash point > 150 ℃, pour point < – 10 ℃), corrosion test grade (100 ℃. 3H), no water, no mechanical impurities, no water-soluble acid or alkali.
