Description
Low-temperature scouring agent PRE-1101
Description
PRE-1101 is an enzyme-mimetic CATALYST compounded with special low-temperature effective scouring agent that enable the hydrogen peroxide BLEACHING take place at a lower temperature. Bleaching with PRE-1101 at 75-80℃ can achieve sufficient degree of whiteness and wettability for dyeing and full bleach and meantime reduce energy consumption, Lower strength loss and weight loss of cotton fabrics.
Typical Characteristics
l Appearance dark green viscous liquid
l pH 5-7
l Ionic nature weakly anionic
l Composition preparation of surfactants and bleaching accelerator
Features and Benefits
l Reduced strength loss and weight loss of cotton fabrics.
l Reduced energy and water consumption
l Reduced processing time and overall bleaching process cost
l Softer hand feel
l Milder reaction giving fabric less tendency to chafe and crease mark
l Save at least 25% of total bleach processing cost
l Better bleaching and dyeing evenness for package yarn
Applications
Suitable for exhaust bleaching for cotton knits, towel, package-dyeing and hank-dyeing yarn.
Typical Recipe:
PRE-1101 1-2g/l
H2O2 (30%) 6 – 12 g/l
NaOH (100%) 1 – 2 g/l
Sequestering agent PRE-1211: 0 – 0.5 g/l
Notes:
- The dosage of H2O2 should be slightly higher than the normal bleaching (need 2-4g/l more). For example, if 98℃ bleaching use 4 g/l H2O2 (30%), then low-temperature bleaching need to use 6 g/l H2O2 in order to get same degree of whiteness and capillary effect. In all cases, use H2O2 (30%) no less than 6 g/L for knitted fabric bleaching and no less than 8 g/L for packaging yarn bleaching for low-temperature bleaching. If factory use H2O2 at different concentration, i.e. 50%, please calculate the increment of H2O2 accordingly. (in the case of 50% H2O2, need add 1.2- 2.4g/l more H2O2 than normal)
- Low temperature bleaching does NOT need more caustic soda to achieve a good wettability. Normally, for the cotton knits with combed yarn, 1g/L 100% caustic soda is recommended; for knits with semi combed yarn 1.5g/L 100% caustic soda and for the carded cotton knits with lots of cotton seeds 2 g/L 100% caustic soda are recommended. In principle, poor quality cotton needs slightly more caustic soda in order to remove cotton seeds completely. The higher amount of caustic soda will NOT increase the degree of whiteness, nor the hydrophilicity of cotton fabric. In no cases, caustic soda should be more than 3g/L.
- For the cotton knits, if factory use soft water, then extra stabilizer or sequestering agent is not necessary; if factory use hard water, then addition of 0.5g/L sequestering agent is highly recommended. However, in all cases of package yarn bleaching, adding 0.5g/L our proprietary sequestering agent, PRE-1211 which is designed specifically for this system is a MUST as package yarn normally contains high amount of impurities which trapped within the tightly-packed yarn.
How to evaluate the PRE-1101 properly in the Lab
- Even in the Lab evaluation/test of PRE-1101, bleaching process should be started from room temperature and then heat up to 80℃ at the speed of 2-3℃/min. Bleaching by directly make a 80℃ water bath and then adding chemicals and fabric into the beak will NOT get satisfactory results and therefore should be avoided!
- Always follow the right order of chemical addition: Add sequestering agent and PRE-1101 first, then caustic, and at last H2O2.
How to use PRE-1101 properly to bleach cotton knits
Notes:
- Start bleaching from room temperature and raise temperature at 2-3℃/min to 80℃.
- Always follow the right order of chemical addition.
- Liquor ratio should be no less than 1:7. Lower than 1:7 may cause uneven whiteness.
- Bleaching at 80℃ will give better results than 75℃ in terms of wettability.
- Hot rinse at 80℃ for 10min will ensure a good DOW and hydrophilicity.
How to use PRE-1101 properly to bleach package yarn
Notes:
To bleach package yarn satisfactorily is certainly more difficult than knitted fabric, therefore, besides all the notes for knits three more attentions have to be paid.
- Use higher amount of H2O2. 8-12 g/l (30%) H2O2 is recommended. Normally use 10g/l H2O2 (30%) for package yarn bleaching with PRE-1101.
- Must use sequestering agent. 0.5g/L PRE-1211 is recommended.
- Two times HOT rinse at 80℃ is needed to ensure a good whiteness and wettability.
Packaging
Standard packaging is 125kg plastic drum.
Storage
To ensure extend shelf life, store at cool and dry places in a sealed container. Avoid direct sun shine. Cover well after usage to avoid contamination. 12-24 months after production upon good storage.
