What is aerogel fiber?
Aerogel fiber is a new functional fiber, which has good thermal insulation, hygroscopicity and breathability. The so-called aerogel fiber, as the name implies, refers to the textile materials made of aerogels. As everyone knows, gel is an elastic solid formed by colloidal particles in solution or solution in the form of space network structure under the action of disperse medium. Hydrogel is called water gel. However, we call gas aerogels as gas dispersing medium.

Aerogel is the world’s least known solid material. Because most of its components are gas, it appears to be cloudy. Therefore, aerogels are also called solid smoke. The birth of aerogels comes from the idea that scientists who have a big brain hole want to replace the moisture in jelly (hydrogel) with gas.
Air is the best thermal insulation material. For example, the fluffy degree of down is an important standard to test its quality. In aerogels, more than 90% of them are air, so aerogel fibers have very high thermal insulation properties. According to the experimental data, the thermal insulation value of polyester aerogel fiber far exceeds the national standard extremely low thermal conductivity: less than 0.02W/ (MK).

At the same time, aerogel fibers also have the characteristics of light weight. Because the proportion of aerogels is very light, between 10-30 kilograms per cubic meter, so aerogel yarn is actually very light. Compared with ordinary fiber, its thickness is only half, and its density is as low as 0.003 grams per square centimeter.
The aerated gel fibers are filled with nano air particles. The specific surface area of the fiber is much larger than that of the hollow hollow fiber. When it has good hygroscopicity and good air permeability, it is more convenient for downstream printing and dyeing of the industrial chain.

Use of aerogel fibers
Aerogel fibers with extremely high thermal insulation, moisture absorption and breathability are also widely used. Obviously, it is used for making winter clothes and sportswear. With the further development of textile fiber technology, products made from aerogel fibers, such as some parts of the spacesuit, can be applied to the aerospace field.
People who like outdoor sports and love mountain climbing, exploration and crossing cannot avoid their own safety problems in the complex environment in the wild, especially in low temperature. According to the laboratory data, aerogel fibers have 2.8 times the heat insulation property at low temperature, and the enthalpy of the aerogel fibers can reach 162 J/g, which can be used for long time under the extreme environment of 196 degrees Celsius below zero and 300 degrees Celsius. The aerogel fibers developed by Qingdao Zheng Hongxiang Technology Co., Ltd. are made into cold proof clothing, which can also play a role of keeping warm in extremely cold temperatures.
At the same time, aerogel fibers are extremely suitable for thermal underwear and other products because of their high thermal insulation, hygroscopicity and permeability. The biggest problem of ordinary thermal underwear is that it is warm but airtight. When entering the room from the outside in winter, the moisture generated by the human body is difficult to be discharged after the temperature rises, resulting in a significant reduction in the comfort of users.
Aerogel fibers are widely used. Besides outdoor clothing and thermal underwear, they can also be used in bulletproof clothing, tents, sleeping bags, kneecap, yoga clothes and other fields.

Aerogel fiber Market
At present, the use of aerogel fibers in the textile and garment market is mainly concentrated on the winter cold and warm products. Traditionally, most of this clothing segment is occupied by cotton, down, wool, cashmere, acrylic and other products.
Insiders know that the thermal insulation performance of fiber materials is directly proportional to the static air content inside the fiber materials, inversely proportional to the fiber diameter and inversely proportional to the overall material density. The aerogel fiber developed by Qingdao Hongxiang Technology Co., Ltd. has 98% ultra-high porosity and high specific surface area. Therefore, it is theoretically the best material for textile and clothing with the best thermal insulation effect. Aerogel fibers may also be a direction for the development of thermal fibers in the future.
At present, aerogel fibers belong to a new type of textile fiber. Consumers at home and abroad still do not know much about this fiber and its textile and clothing products. Precisely because of this, the market of the textile and garment products produced by Qingdao Hongxiang Technology Co., Ltd. is still a blue ocean, which can provide unlimited possibilities for the development of the products of the related textile and garment enterprises.
